11 : 11
2021
16x20 Inches, Oil on Canvas

11 : 11 is a painting created with hope. It depicts an individual calling out to a higher being as they sit on a path to their future. As they call out, they are set free of their struggles and the knots in their life begin to untangle. Their future that was once invisible to them now becomes clear. They feel themselves slowly stepping into a refined version of themselves as they travel through their life adventures with trust and reassurance. The title of the painting is an angel number, more specifically a time that people associate with good luck. People often make their greatest wishes at 11:11 in hopes that they come true. With this painting, I represent the connection between humans and their greatest desires.

Blossom
2021
18x24 Inches, Oil on Canvas

Blossom is representative of growth and change as you forget about the elements of the past that don't benefit your future. As time passes, you make significant changes in your life that lead you to becoming the best version of yourself. Created in January of 2021, Blossom signifies my growth and development as I prepared the busy year that was to come. Blossom includes a lot of elements that represent peace and new beginnings, such as the skull, rose, and pathway. It is a representation of me blossoming into an improved version of myself as time passes.

Lost In a Facade
2021
32x40 Inches, Oil on Canvas

In the midst of the global pandemic, COVID-19, many of us were forced into cycles. Students woke up everyday and logged onto zoom calls for hours, listening to their teachers. Parents made their morning coffee while afterwards walking to their desk to complete their work from home. Others woke up and struggled to find productivity in their days. The stay at home orders that were enforced confined everyone to a limited lifestyle in which day by day, people constantly repeated the same activities. As a student, Lost in a Facade was painted with personal emotion and passion. During quarantine, school days were exhausting, zoom calls were boring, and my body cramped from being in the same spot for hours upon hours. It felt like I was drowning in my work, emotions, and thoughts. Lost In a Facade captures me falling into a pool of pawns. Why pawns? They’re the weakest piece in a chess game and my weakness during quarantine was synonymous to that of the pawns. The rope depicts the weight of my emotions and how they plagued my mind. I lived with a facade that concealed my true emotions.

A Lost Soul
2021
16x20 Inches, Oil on Canvas

We all have one thing in common. There is something we all desperately want to achieve. We may not know how or when it’ll happen, but we all dream of it. A Lost Soul tells our stories of finding our way to those dreams. A door opens with new opportunities and we’re presented with an abundance of joy as time passes and heals our wounds and mistakes. As we progress, a new world opens up where our destined fate awaits. It’s only a climb away but that climb is not as easy as one may think. However, the signs continuously show up, presenting themselves as fragments of the futures we wish to live. They slowly pour down, reminding us to keep going and push through what may seem unbearable. The journey to success is not an easy one but we will not remain lost souls forever. We are destined to confront an abundance of success and relief.

Happy Place
2021
2048x2048 Pixels, Digital

Unexpectancy is scary. Nobody likes to make a choice without knowing the outcome. But sometimes, that's necessary. The only way to progress is to make decisions and learn. In Happy Place I explored and embodied this idea. I began this painting with no concept planned out. I began painting without hesitation, laying down random brush strokes and working with what I saw coming together. As I painted, I saw more and more of the composition come to life. After each brush stroke, I didn’t know what was to come but it led me to creating a beautiful painting. Though it is scary, unexpectancy is a gift and only those daring enough will be blessed to see its beauty.

Blank Space
2021
1200 x 2400 Pixels, Digital

Have you ever felt like you were living a life to please others? Like every choice you make, you make with hesitation, thinking will this make people happy? Blank Space tells just the story. It depicts a girl in two separate worlds. In one world she floats above a body of water, staring down at her current self, trapped by the thread of comments and insults from the people around her. She now lives her life as a means to please their desires and she struggles to break free from the chains of confinement. She is stuck and feels no choice but to continue living guided by the opinions of others.

The Unexplored Anchors (1).JPG

The Unexplored Anchors
2021
24 x 36 Inches, Oil on Canvas

Anchors hold a ship down and prevent it from setting sail. When the anchor is lifted, the ship sails away. Our conscious and subconscious minds are internal anchors. The work they do shapes our actions, emotions, and mindset, building us each into unique individuals. Their co-domination within our minds prevents us from losing stability and drifting into inhabitable states of existence. If our anchors were to ever be released, we'd slowly become less aware of who we are and the lives we're living, disassociating ourselves from reality. But we are only conscious of 5% of cognitive activity (i.e, high-level activities), leaving 95% of our mind to be controlled by the unconscious, better yet, the unknown. How much of what we do are we really aware of? Are there decisions we make that we think we're in control of but we really aren't?

Phases (2).jpg

Phases
2021
18 x 24 Inches, Oil on Canvas

Time seems to come and go everyday. We wake up, go about our day, and go to sleep. But has it ever felt like too much time is passing or time is passing too quickly? Phases explores the passage of time as an inevitable concept that motivate us to achieve our greatest dreams. The passage of time allows us as humans to develop and go through our 'phases' in which we learn and grow. Synonymous to the moon, we will go through cycles in our life where we change but ultimately we will reach a point where we feel successful and empowered.

Horizon.jpg

Horizon
2021
24 x 30 Inches, Acrylic and Oil on Canvas

The horizon is defined as the location at which the sea and sky meet. In reality, we use the term 'meet' metaphorically as the two do not actually merge. What if there was a world where they truly did merge? Where the sea towered above us, exposing us to the mysterious sea creatures that inhabited marine environments. What if we walked among the clouds, living in an alternate but dream-like world. Horizon depicts just that. A world where sea creatures fly in the air like birds. The ground we walk on is as soft as the beds we sleep on. The mysterious forces of nature are all around us.

As The End Begins
2021
16 x 20 Inches, Acrylic and Oil on Canvas

Since I was a freshman in high school, I thought about what it would be like to be a senior. My mind always thought about how liberating and accomplished i'd feel. As a current senior in high school, I feel just that. However, I never thought about how transformative it would feel. Its the end of a new beginning. In June of 2022, I'll be graduating high school in New York City to begin a new journey at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My senior year is the start of my transformation into someone new. I slowly drift away from the place I call home to create a new home elsewhere but I will always look back on what made me, me with a positive and grateful eye. As The End Begins tells my personal story of how it feels to be so close to an end, only to spark a new beginning.

Three Hundred and Sixty-Nine
2022
16 x 20 Inches, Acrylic on Canvas

The Law of Attraction states that we attract what we put our energy and intention into. The 369 method is a practice that involves writing down your desires to manifest them into a reality. These three numbers have had meaning all throughout history and religion including within the three pyramids of Giza and the three spirits of the Christian Holy Trinity. They are even present in our daily lives as the 24 hours in a day, sixty seconds in a minute, and 12 months in a year are all divisible by the numbers 3, 6, and 9. These numbers are favored by the universe and are powerful enough to align us with our dreams.

How do you view these numbers after reading this?

Reborn In Paradise
2022
18 x 24 Inches, Oil on Canvas

The counterpart to A Lost Soul, Reborn In Paradise tells the story of successfully finding your destined purpose in life. This piece looks further into the hole that the hands in A Lost Soul tear the sky to reveal. The tear reveals a beautiful sunset seascape with goddess Venus grasping hold of the blue sky that dominates A Lost Soul. Reborn In Paradise represents the beauty and outcome of hard work and dedication. After spending time to discover yourself and embody your true purpose, you have become prosperous and reached an abundance of success and livelihood. Reborn In Paradise completes the set, A Lost Soul Reborn In Paradise, detailing the reality of the rough path to achievement in juxtaposition with the beauty that results from it.

Three Sisters of Fate.JPG

Three Sisters Of Fate
2022
12 x 12 Inches, Oil on Wood Pannel

In the Greek Morai, there are three sisters of fate: Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Clotho spins the thread of life when a baby is born. Lachesis measures the thread, determining the length of an individual's life. Atropos cut the thread, determining the time of death. These three sisters are said to have great control over our lives and our fate. It brings up the question, how much control do we have? Our power and control over our lives actually expands farther than we think. We have the power to create our lives and shape them to be how we want. Our thoughts, words, energy, and actions are full of intention and direction. They lead us to a greater fate which we are destined to arrive at. We are powerful beings and the three sisters are not the only ones in control.

Pieces Of My Soul
2022
42 x 72 Inches, Acrylic on Canvas

Pieces of My Soul is about my life and journey as an artist and entrepreneur, I’m constantly wearing multiple hats. I create the work I put out, manage my online presence, market my work, serve as customer support, and many more while also trying to sustain my life outside of art. Life sometimes becomes messy and distorted because of this, I sometimes lose a sense of my end goal and what it is I want most. Pieces Of My Soul is my visual depiction of the literal pieces of my soul floating away from myself as I take on various tasks but also a reminder of the beauty to witness after my hard work. As I get older, I’m slowly finding clarity in my goals and myself as a person. I’m breaking free from the confusion and struggle and becoming grounded in my work.
